SA Tourism to Sponsor Tottenham Hotspur

South Africa – The planned sponsorship agreement between SA Tourism and English Premier League (EPL) team Tottenham Hotspur is a fantastic idea, but according to experts, the government must first clean its house before it can be warmly welcomed.

Despite the fact that it could result in significant financial gains for the tourism industry, they contend that South Africans cannot be open to this proposal because of the country’s widespread poverty, unemployment, government corruption, lack of trust in the country’s leaders, and rolling blackouts.

Following news of a three-year, multimillion-pound sponsorship agreement with the English team, SA Tourism has come under fire.

The arrangement, at £42.5 million (about R900 million), was set to commence at the start of the 2023–2024 season. According to President Cyril Ramaphosa, this amount could not be justified.
