The Taliban administration in Afghanistan has been urged by the UN Security Council to lift its prohibition on women working for charity organizations. The Taliban’s commitment to the Afghan people, the statement claims, is violated by the limits. Since the Taliban regime forbade women from working for them, five prominent non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have stopped operations in Afghanistan. Without their “female personnel,” Care International, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and Save the Children stated that they could not continue their work.
