Ukraine has intercepted numerous individuals at the border due to concerns over the draft.

In Kyiv, Ukrainian border officials reported on Friday the apprehension of numerous men attempting to clandestinely depart the nation amid a forceful conscription campaign to combat the invading Russian forces.

The capital introduced contentious new laws last month to boost military personnel following over two years of costly conflict and territorial advances by Russia in the eastern regions.

Since the onset of the Russian incursion, Ukrainian males aged 18 to 60 have been prohibited from exiting the country.

In the southern Odesa area, neighboring Moldova and Romania, border authorities uncovered 41 Ukrainian nationals from 12 districts attempting to escape in a vehicle designated for grain transport.

The authorities prepared administrative charges against the offenders, and the two individuals implicated in orchestrating the escape attempt are facing criminal charges.

Earlier in February, it was reported that border guards had thwarted the illegal departure of 38 Ukrainian men into Hungary, with smugglers demanding payments ranging from $4,500 to $8,500 per individual.
