Tesla has issued a voluntary recall for 362,758 vehicles due to potential risks posed by its experimental driver-assistance software, which may result in crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall notice, posted on Thursday, indicates that Tesla plans to provide an over-the-air software update to address the issues. The software currently in use allows vehicles to exceed speed limits or make unpredictable moves, increasing the risk of accidents.
Tesla has stated that it is not aware of any deaths or injuries resulting from the recall issue and will provide the OTA update at no cost.
Despite this, Tesla’s shares fell 1.6% to $210.76 on Thursday afternoon.
