Tech giant Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, is set to lay off approximately 6,000 employees next week in its second round of layoffs this year.
The company had previously let go of 4,000 employees in March and 11,000 employees in November of the previous year. These developments indicate a challenging period for the platform. The information was revealed through leaked documents obtained by Vox and confirmed during a company-wide meeting by Meta’s President of Global Affairs, Nick Clegg. Meta’s senior executives will soon communicate specific details about the layoffs to affected employees.
While concerns were raised about future layoffs, Meta’s CTO, Andrew Bosworth, expressed that the company currently has no such plans and intends to continue growing, though unforeseen circumstances could potentially impact this trajectory.
