South Africans Win Grammy Awards

Zakes Bantwini, Wouter Kellerman, and Nomcebo Zikode have earned their place as Grammy Award winners. The group earned the award for Best Global Music Performance in the Global Music category for their popular hit, “Bayethe,” at the Grammy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

During his acceptance speech, Kellerman expressed his gratitude and excitement, saying, “Thank you so much. This is such a beautiful moment in our journey to share South African music and culture with the world.” Zakes Bantwini added his own words of inspiration, saying, “I just want to say that this moment proves to anyone in Africa that every dream is valid.”

After her colleagues spoke, Nomcebo Zikode sang a portion of “Jerusalema” and thanked her family and team.
