Singapore Airlines Flight SQ321 Encounters Severe Turbulence, Resulting in Injuries and One Fatality

On Tuesday, a Singapore Airlines flight, SQ321, faced severe turbulence during its journey from London Heathrow to Singapore. As a consequence, the aircraft was forced to divert to Bangkok, Thailand, where it landed at 3:45 PM local time (9:45 AM UK time). Tragically, one passenger lost their life, and several others sustained injuries during the turbulent episode. The affected aircraft was a Boeing 777-300ER, carrying a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew members.

Singapore Airlines promptly responded to the situation, prioritizing the well-being of passengers and crew. The airline is collaborating with Thai authorities to provide necessary medical assistance. Additionally, a support team is en route to Bangkok to offer further aid. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of the deceased.

Social media footage captured ambulances lined up at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport, emphasizing the severity of the incident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the turbulence, but initial reports suggest the flight encountered an air pocket before the emergency landing.
