SOUTH AFRICA – Hundreds of inhabitants in nearby neighborhoods find themselves in dire straits after Cape Town was struck by strong winds and heavy rainfall.

Additionally, thousands of people across the Western Cape are grappling with the consequences of the turbulent weather.

The severe weather in the Western Cape has resulted in one fatality and the destruction of more than 26 schools.

Local government authorities are currently evaluating the damage and assisting communities in clearing debris from stormwater systems
