School teacher jailed for 6 years

Rebecca Joynes, a teacher, has been sentenced to six and a half years in jail for engaging in sexual activity with two schoolboys. She groomed both boys from the age of 15, initially exchanging messages with them on social media. Joynes was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with one child and two counts with another.

She had a child with one of the teenagers and was described as a “sexual predator” by the prosecution. The incidents occurred while she was working at their high school as part of the Teach First recruitment scheme.

Her actions were discovered after rumors circulated on Snapchat, leading to her arrest. Joynes’ case highlights the importance of safeguarding students and maintaining professional boundaries in educational settings.
