SA Border Authority implements measures at all port due to increase of cases

The Border Management Authority (BMA) in South Africa has implemented measures at all ports of entry due to an increase in Mpox cases. Mpox, also known as Monkeypox, is a rare viral disease that can cause skin lesions, fever, and other symptoms.

BMA Port Health officers are well trained to be vigilant during their operations at the ports. They observe for any lesions or other symptoms in travelers entering the country. If a suspected case of Mpox is identified, arrangements have been made with ambulance services from the Department of Health for referral to healthcare facilities. Travelers who suspect any symptoms, especially those with a travel history to areas with Mpox cases, are encouraged to seek medical care immediately. Stay informed and take necessary precautions if you’re traveling!
