Prime Minister resigns

Haiti’s Prime Minister Ariel Henry has consented to step down after facing escalating pressure and surging violence in the economically challenged nation. This decision follows a gathering of regional leaders in Jamaica on Monday to deliberate on a political handover in Haiti.

Currently marooned in Puerto Rico due to armed groups impeding his return, Mr. Henry has announced his intention to resign once a transitional council is established.
