Pope labels the hostile sentiment towards migrants at the U.S. border as ‘irrationality’.

In a unique television appearance on Sunday, Pope Francis delved into the political discourse of the United States, describing the severe criticism of migrants as irrational and expressing disapproval of certain U.S. Catholic leaders for their rigidly conservative views that oppose his teachings on social issues.

During an extensive interview in Spanish, which was translated for the audience, Francis conveyed to the CBS News program “60 Minutes” his bewilderment at Texas’ decision to shut down a Catholic humanitarian organization, deeming it nonsensical.

He emphasized the absurdity of such actions, stating, “It’s complete folly. To seal off the border and abandon them is sheer folly. Migrants should be welcomed,” as per the pontiff’s remarks.
