Mid- Air Collision

On Tuesday, a tragic incident unfolded over the Kenyan capital Nairobi as a student pilot and instructor lost their lives in a collision between their aircraft and a passenger plane, according to the police.

The collision occurred mid-air between local carrier Safarilink and the 99 Flying training school on Tuesday morning, as confirmed by Kenyan authorities.

Nairobi police spokesperson Adamson Bungei confirmed the fatalities to AFP via text message but did not provide additional details.

An earlier police report, seen by AFP, indicated that the passenger plane “requested to turn back for landing” following the collision.
