Maseru Commuter Crash

Lesotho, Maseru –

The scene was described as “horrific” by Brigadier Motantsi Makhele.

Reportedly, a truck driver lost control of their vehicle, colliding with bystanders and commuters before crashing into a stationary taxi and ultimately coming to a stop in a riverbed at the Port of Entry. As a result of the incident, 4 individuals were confirmed dead and 23 others were injured.

Emergency services and law enforcement officers promptly responded to the accident scene, where the truck driver was found to be critically injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident as a case of culpable homicide.
