Juventus’ Revised 10-Point Penalty

On Monday, Juventus faced further consequences in Serie A as they received a revised 10-point deduction from their initial punishment of 15 points for engaging in illicit transfer activities.

The new sanction, declared by the appeals court of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), has dealt a blow to Juventus’ aspirations of qualifying for the upcoming season’s Champions League. Consequently, the team has dropped out of the top four with only three matches remaining in this season.

Back in April, the Sports Guarantee Board, Italy’s highest sporting court, overturned the 15-point penalty imposed by the FIGC’s appeals court. The case was subsequently sent for a fresh judgment, with the appeals court instructed to reassess the penalties imposed on the club and several key individuals, including former vice-chairman Pavel Nedved.
