Iran imposes Sanctions

On Thursday, Iran imposed sanctions on a number of American and British individuals and organizations, accusing them of supporting Israel in its conflict with Hamas, the Palestinian militant group.

The sanctions, announced by Iran’s foreign ministry, are part of the country’s opposition to Israel. The measures affect seven Americans, among them General Bryan P. Fenton, head of the US special operations, and Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, ex-commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.

The UK individuals and entities sanctioned include Defence Secretary Grant Shapps, army strategic command leader James Hockenhull, and the UK Royal Navy operating in the Red Sea.

Additionally, the sanctions extend to American companies Lockheed Martin and Chevron, as well as their British counterparts Elbit Systems, Parker Meggitt, and Rafael UK.
