Hundreds Stuck in Snow

The UK is facing severe disruption caused by snow, with dangerous conditions leading to drivers becoming stranded and authorities advising against all but essential travel.

Despite bitter temperatures that were the coldest overnight in March for over ten years, many Britons awoke to snowfall, which continued as Storm Larisa battered the country with blizzards and gales on Thursday night.

Multiple warnings for snow and ice have been issued, including four yellow warnings for snow that cover most of the nation, except for south-east England and western Scotland.

The heavy snowfall has caused significant issues, with drivers stuck for over seven hours on the M62 motorway in Greater Manchester and Yorkshire, and other parts of the UK also experiencing chaos due to the snow.
