South Africa, the emergency services of Nelson Mandela Bay reported that over a thousand individuals have been left homeless due to catastrophic flooding in the Eastern Cape.

The deluge claimed the lives of seven individuals as it ravaged areas of Kariega, Gqeberha, and East London last Saturday.

The humanitarian organization, Gift of the Givers, has intervened to provide support to the victims.

Henry Landsdown, the acting spokesperson for emergency services, stated: “Currently, we are dealing with roughly 1,300 displaced individuals who are being accommodated in a variety of shelters, including church and community halls. Presently, we are utilizing about a dozen shelter facilities to offer as much assistance as possible to those affected.”
