Floods in Cape Town

The vicious winter storms have been ongoing for four days now.
Gift of the Givers is assisting with flood relief in the Western Cape. Several communities are facing a severe weather crisis due to multiple cold fronts bringing freezing weather, disruptive rain, and damaging winds.
The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Operations Centre has received calls about flooding in various areas, including Khayelitsha, Joe Slovo Park, Sir Lowry’s Pass Village, Nomzamo, Mfuleni, Driftsands, Masiphumelele, Dunoon, and Gugulethu. Assessments are ongoing, and assistance has been provided to affected residents. Roads have also been affected.
