Controversy arises over Apple’s inclusion of the Palestinian flag emoji

Apple has faced criticism following reports that the Palestinian flag emoji was automatically suggested to iPhone users typing “Jerusalem.”

Both Israel and the Palestinians assert conflicting claims to the ancient city.

According to Apple, the change, which occurred after a recent software update, was not intentional, as conveyed to the BBC.

Apple has stated that a resolution will be provided in a forthcoming software update, although the timeframe for this remains uncertain.
