Chinese “SPY” ballon destroyed by US

The Chinese foreign ministry has accused the US of overreacting and violating international practices after the country shot down a Chinese high-altitude balloon that had crossed over the US and caused a diplomatic dispute between the two nations.

The US claims the balloon was used for spying purposes, while China says it was for meteorological purposes. A single missile fired from a US F-22 Raptor fighter jet brought down the balloon over the Atlantic Ocean after it was ordered to do so by President Joe Biden.

Biden praised the actions of the US aviators who successfully brought down the balloon without causing harm to anyone on the ground.
