Chicago fire won’t be the same

Eamonn Walker, who has portrayed Wallace Boden on “Chicago Fire” since the show premiered in 2012, is stepping back from his role as Chief Boden after 12 seasons.

Although he won’t be a series regular, fans can rest assured that his character won’t be killed off. Instead, he is expected to return in future episodes in a recurring capacity. Boden has been a beloved figurehead in the Chicago Fire Department, and his departure will likely be handled with care and respect for the character’s legacy.

In the Season 12 finale, titled “Never Say Goodbye,” Boden makes a decision that impacts the race for deputy commissioner.  Walker has played the Firehouse 51 boss for nearly 250 episodes, making his impact on the show significant.

It’s worth noting that Eamonn Walker is one of several “One Chicago” stars who have exited or taken breaks from the NBC shows in recent years.
