CBI Membership Suspended indefinitely

Following the scandal that has engulfed the business lobby group, the CBI has suspended all its activity until June, after some major companies terminated their membership or suspended collaboration.

The decision came after The Guardian reported a second woman accusing two male CBI co-workers of rape, adding to the series of historic serious misconduct claims against the body. In a statement, the CBI expressed regret to the women who have endured these horrific experiences, adding that they would restructure the organization and put forward proposals at an extraordinary general meeting in June.

CBI On the same day, several firms, including NatWest Group, Facebook’s Meta, and BT Group, withdrew their support from the CBI, citing the seriousness of the allegations made.
