Bruce Willis diagnosed with dementia

On Thursday, Bruce Willis’ family announced that the 67-year-old actor has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. In an update posted on Instagram by his ex-wife and fellow actor Demi Moore, fans were directed to a statement on the Association for Frontotemporal Dementia’s website.

The statement expressed the family’s gratitude for the love and support they have received since Bruce’s original diagnosis, and provided an update on his condition. Since announcing Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, his condition has progressed and he has now been diagnosed with dementia.

The statement noted that challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease that Bruce is facing, and while this is painful, the family is relieved to finally have a clear diagnosis for their beloved husband, father, and friend.
