Biden on China Balloon

US – During his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden stated that he will defend US interests against China if necessary, while still leaving room for cooperation.

In the address to lawmakers, who have been pushing for a firm stance against China, Biden called for investment in military, technology, and alliances to face the country seen as the US’s main rival. Biden emphasized that he is willing to work with China if it aligns with American interests and benefits the world.

However, he made it clear that if China threatens the sovereignty of the US, he will take action to protect the country, citing the recent downing of a suspected surveillance balloon as an example.
