BBC election debate

In their final TV debate before the election, Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer went head-to-head.

Tax and Immigration: Sunak repeatedly accused Starmer of planning tax rises and having no plan to deal with illegal immigration.

NHS Waiting Lists: Starmer emphasized the importance of reducing NHS waiting lists, while Sunak proposed a “sick note” policy.

Starmer was more direct and personal, winning applause from the audience. Rebranding: Sunak’s main focus was on tax, as the Conservative Party rebranded its press account as “Tax Check UK” during the debate.
