In Dakar, Senegal, a Boeing 737-300 aircraft with 85 individuals aboard veered off the runway at the city’s airport, resulting in injuries to 10 people. This was confirmed by the transport minister and an airline safety group, and was further evidenced by a video from a passenger showing the plane ablaze.
Transport Minister El Malick Ndiaye reported that the Air Sénégal aircraft, managed by TransAir, was en route to Bamako, Mali, on Wednesday evening with 79 passengers, two pilots, and four crew members. The airport resumed operations on Thursday morning after an overnight closure.
Those injured received medical attention at a hospital, and the remaining passengers were accommodated in a hotel for rest. Boeing directed inquiries to the airline involved.
This marked the third Boeing-related incident within the week. On the same Thursday, a plane in Turkey safely discharged 190 passengers following a tire blowout during landing at a southern airport, as stated by Turkey’s transportation ministry.
