Accident in Limpopo

South Africa – A head-on collision between a tour bus and a cash-in-transit van on the N1 in Makhado, Limpopo, resulted in at least 20 deaths and 68 injuries.

The bus fell into a river after rolling from a bridge on the freeway. Emergency services arrived on the scene, and at the time of reporting, several passengers were possibly unaccounted for.

Three people were found dead by the roadside, 16 by the river, and one passenger died in the hospital. Heavy rainfall slowed down the police’s work, but the N1 highway in Makhado has since been reopened to traffic.
